The upgrades

Before every Grand Prix each team has to tell the FIA what it has changed on the car since the last race: which part, why, and in a few sentences how it is meant to work. The FIA publishes the answers on the Thursday of the race weekend as Car Presentation Submissions. Here they are collected for the whole 2026 season – every team, every race, in the teams' own words.

How to read the reasons. Performance – local load means more downforce at one specific place on the car, usually the floor. Flow conditioning means tidying the airflow so parts further back work better – a mirror or a halo fairing is rarely about the mirror itself. Circuit specific is a part made for this track alone: a low-drag wing for Monza or Baku, more cooling for a hot race. Reliability is a fix. A long list is not automatically a fast car: a team that got the car right in winter has less to change, and a team in trouble brings more. The number that matters is whether the lap time moved afterwards – and that is what the rest of this site measures.
